When the the ducklings are foraging through the grass, it looks a lot like how some dinosaurs are depicted in the movies.

At first the ducklings did not go into any border plants. They skirted the edges. Recently though they found it very interesting in the geraniums. They stay in there for a long time working their way around the tree.

I was working on this blog on the deck with the ducks in the pond and out and about the yard. Suddenly I noticed that I did not know where four of the ducks were. This was before I realized that they were all going in the geraniums. Suddenly I panicked. I scooped up the two ducklings that were about me. I frantically searched for the four. I gave out the danger call. They did not come running. I really got worried. Finally one came out of the geranium forest. I could see the movement in the patch.

Later I did a test while they were all back in the geraniums. I gave the danger call. Not only did they not come out, but they stopped moving. All the more reason why I could not find them the other time.
